Part of Batumi Boulevard, known as the Park of Wonders, includes both examples of modern architecture and some antiquities. The creation of this park was carried out in a very short time.
From the point of view of the cultural life of the city of Batumi, the Park of Wonders is interesting and busy, concerts and festivals are often held here.
New Year concerts are held in the Park of Wonders. Exhibitions. This is the place where events related to the opening of the tourist season in Batumi have been held many times. Georgia's Independence Day (May 26) is often celebrated with an exhibition of military equipment and other activities.
The Alphabet Tower is located here, the Georgian alphabet is the same genetic code of Georgia.
One of the 14 scripts in the world is Georgian. This is a very important and proud fact. Georgian society has dedicated many examples of culture to the Georgian alphabet throughout its historical development. The Alphabet Tower is one of the interesting architectural examples dedicated to the Georgian alphabet, which adorns Batumi. The 130-meter iron structure, surrounded by 33 letters of the Georgian alphabet, is an architecture similar to a DNA cell. Its elevator is a panoramic glass structure. In the attic of the Alphabet Tower there is a revolving restaurant. The project belongs to the Spanish architect Alberto Domingo Cabo.
As for the sculpture Ali and Nino, these unusual dates embodied in metal, like the spinning of life on the eternal circle of love, awaken amazing emotions.
The lovers Ali and Nino, the heroes of the novel of the same name by Kurban Said, were embodied in a moving sculpture on the Black Sea coast. The eight-meter-high work belongs to the famous Georgian artist and sculptor Tamar Kvesitadze. The silhouettes of a man and a woman walk towards each other, unite, intersect, move apart and start moving towards each other again.
The beauty of the park is the lighthouse. It is important that the first lighthouse for the port on the Batumi coast was built in 1863. It was a cast-iron column with a dioptric lamp mounted on it. In 1882, the old building was rebuilt by French constructors, they built an octagonal stone lighthouse and erected a small cylindrical tower on its top, where the lighting device was placed. It has been guiding ships entering the Black Sea for more than 150 years, its light reaches 14 nautical miles. The lighthouse building also houses a hydrographic service, where forecasters are on duty 24 hours a day and monitor weather conditions. The Batumi Lighthouse is a progressive example of engineering art of its time and is one of the city's landmarks. The lighthouse is unique in its data: height, color of light and number of revolutions per minute. Near the lighthouse is a panoramic wheel installed by Italian architects, the so-called Ferris Wheel, from which you can enjoy amazingly impressive views of the city and the vast sea.
“Me, You and Batumi” is the name of the composition that has been decorating Batumi since 2012. Its author is Irakli Tsuladze, who once again emphasized the Batumi tradition of drinking coffee by depicting figures of a man and a woman made of bronze and cast metal.
