Church of Kvatia

The Church of Kvatia - is located in Adjara, in the village of Kvatia, Khulos Municipality, 200 meters from the center of the village, on an elevated hill, which the locals call Sakdrikeli. The shortest silk caravan route from Batumi in the direction of Shavsheti and Ardagan passed through the village of Kvatia.

The estimated date of construction of the church is XI-XIII centuries. According to locals, the walls of the church were fully preserved in 60 of the 20th century. After that, the inhabitants abandoned it and used the carved stones for various household purposes.
