There is a historical-ethnographic museum of  Machakhela in village Zeda Chkhutuneti, (35 km away from Batumi), which has been functioning since June 9, 1984.  The museum is located in the three-storey building of the former mosque. It presents a number of exhibits characteristic of the valley and ethnographic items depicting life. Tourists pay special attention to the wood-carved ornament of the XVIII century, which retains its colors despite the passage of many years.
