Green Lake (Mtsvane Tba) is located in the highlands of Adjara—specifically in the Khulo Municipality, within the northern section of the Arsiani Range near Goderdzi Pass—at an altitude of 2,060 meters above sea level. The lake is distinguished by its clean, crystal-clear, and mildly mineralized water. Its name derives from the water's characteristic green hue, which becomes particularly vivid during the day, while shifting to various other shades in the evening or as weather conditions change.
The route to Green Lake begins at Goderdzi Pass, traversing alpine meadows and forest trails. The lake is accessible by off-road vehicle or via hiking paths. The surrounding area is ideal for hiking, picnicking, camping, and overnight stays in tents. Visitors can enjoy boat rides on the lake, and the surrounding alpine landscapes and high-mountain environment make Green Lake one of Adjara’s most outstanding eco-tourism destinations.
