CAS Batumi is the public Contemporary Art Space in Batumi, which was founded by local artists and curators. After three years of extensive research and international collaborations CAS was officially inaugurated in 2014. Since then, space has been contributing to the regional cultural landscape by implementing various artistic and educational projects. The goal of CAS is to support artists and cultural practitioners, providing them with a space for free expression at all stages of their professional development.

CAS annual programme consists of the exhibition projects selected through the international open call, small-scale educational activities and the Interchange festival (previosuly “Photo Days”). Interchange represents a multidisciplinary collaborative platform for artists and researchers. It was established with an idea to facilitate exchange between different communities, cultures and disciplines.

Contemporary Art Space is funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Adjara Autonomous Republic.
