The fortress stands at a height of up to 50 meters above the Machakhela River. It offers stunning panoramic views, overlooking beautiful mountains and rivers. Gvara Fortress covers a total area of ​​150 square meters, with surviving walls ranging from 3 to 6 meters in height. Its primary function was to control the roads passing through the valley; additionally, its strategic location made it vital for defense. Archaeologists discovered 22 *kvevris* (large clay wine vessels) dating back to the 11th century on the site, suggesting the fortress was active between the 10th and 18th centuries. A well was discovered in the southern section of the fortress; it features an adjoining triangular structure with a storage space beneath it. The well is 2.80 meters deep.

How to get there: Minibus Nos. 400 and 401; from the turn-off for Gvara Fortress on the road to Kirnati village, you need to travel approximately 300 m (0.3 km) to reach the fortress.
