Today tourism is one of the fastest growing areas. In the last period it became popular among the majority of tourists to get acquainted in detail with the traditions, nature, gastronomy, culture and history of the country. All of these components are part of rural tourism.
Adjara is rich in nature, unique traditions and culture, authentic atmosphere, delicious cuisine and hospitable people. This creates excellent conditions for the development of rural tourism. A variety of tourist product and presence of national parks also contribute to this. The number of visitors traveling to the mountainous Adjara is growing annually.
The main theme of the rural tourism conference is the prospect of development of this type of tourism, as well as the popularization of recreation in the mountainous Adjara. The main purpose of the conference is to meet and discuss with the participants (entrepreneurs, representatives of the public and private sector involved in rural tourism) the problems of rural tourism.
The conference is attended by both foreign and Georgian experts, guest house owners, travel agents, representatives of various rural and eco-tourism spheres, governmental and non-governmental organizations and institutions. Within the framework of the conference, presentations and seminars of invited Georgian and foreign experts are held within 2 days, excursions and study visits are conducted along the tourists routes of Adjara.
Participation in the conference is free of charge. Electronic registration is required. Invitation of foreign and Georgian participants to the conference will be held individually.
The 3rd International Conference of Rural Tourism will be held in 2019. The theme of the conference is updated annually. This year, major topics, registration form and other detailed information will be posted on the official website of rural tourism www.batumiruralconf.com
