The project involves the improvement of the trail leading to Khikhani Fortress. Khikhani stands out as one of the best-preserved historical monuments in Ajara. The road to the fortress is quite challenging and, in some sections, even hazardous. Access to the fortress is possible only via a narrow trail, which holds particular interest for hikers. The project entails partially enhancing the trail and, in some sections, installing stairs at the most dangerous segments and turns. The construction will be authentic, environmentally sustainable, and resilient to climate conditions.
Rest areas will be arranged along the trail. As a result of the project, Khikhani will become accessible not only to experienced hikers but also to tourism enthusiasts. Additionally, this area will be suitable for hosting cultural and sports events, as well as press and info tours.
The project is completed.
