The festival program traditionally includes folklore, ethnography, folk art and an exhibition of agricultural products. At the end of the event, an honorary resident of Merisi is elected and awarded. The holiday has been celebrated since 2008 once every 5 years.
On the festival day, all residents of Merisi meet to pay homage to their native gorge. Guests of the festival can enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and villages, try the unique local wines Chkhaveri and Tsolikauri and listen to traditional Adjarian songs. In addition, you can visit the Keda ethnographic museum and the beautiful Merisi waterfall.
